How have you created meaning through the use of editing, mise en scene, sound and cinematography?

Editing
·      Image mask to layer the main character and animals running up a hill to connate fear of the main character.
·      Pond ripple on the clips of the animals to create a blurry effect that connoted the dreaming feeling.

Mise En Scene
·      People in animal masks to create entropic elements that represented fear and the abstract that fitted into our genre.
·      Ballet girl dressed in black to convey the theme of death and murder. Used as an anchorage also within our edits as the death scenes were in black and white. Main girl dressed in a flowery dress that represented innocence.
Sound
·      Synchronous  because of the performance elements – links well with Andrew Goodwins theory – lyrics link in with visuals. “Don’t wake me…don’t make a sound”  She is dreaming so there is no waking involved.
